Tamper Evident Packing
How does it work?
The purchaser of a product (who may be a distributor
or end user) will be notified when the packaging has been breached through
a colour change of the packaging. Once in contact with oxygen, the packaging
will produce a visible blue colour irrespective of the location of the
breach. The visual colour change occurs in approximately 30 seconds and
is irreversible.
This feature is unlike many of the end seal tags, which are designed to
indicate a breach at one location only.
This indicator (currently under provisional patent) is wafer thin and
can be as small as 1cm2.
The use of the tamper indicator will not interfere with the normal opening
procedure which consumers perform to use the product. As it is non-toxic,
the chemical reaction will not harm consumers, products and packaging.
